Fight the Good Fight!

Everybody’s got a story to tell and a wound to heal. Some battles fought are not even spoken out loud.

Today I’m sharing about a dear friend Alisha, who has been battling cancer since 2020. The process, the diagnosis is endless. The chemo, the surgery, the radiations, the visits to the hospital, the sleepless nights groaning with pain, in all this she just didn’t complain. She keeps her faith knowing that healing is her portion come what may.

If you have met Alisha, you will know she is a fighter. It is her fighting spirit that has inspired so many. She always has a smile on her face when people come to meet her. We go with the intention of encouraging her, but it turns out the other way 😊 She will always have a word of faith to share and amazes us with her love for the Lord.

When pain takes over her body, she starts to count on her fingers, wondered what it meant though I never asked her. And one day she told me that she recalls all the men and women of God from the bible who were in great agony and how God turned it around for them.  So, with confidence in her heart she knows God will not fail her. She takes comfort in Jeremiah 29:11 knowing that it is not a promise to immediately rescue us from hardship or suffering, but rather a promise that God has a plan for our lives and regardless of our current situation, He can work through it to prosper us and give us a hope and a future.

This year has been equally challenging for Alisha, but despite the odds she holds firm to His promises. She continues to smile, fight and waits for her miracle as she has a testimony to tell the world for what the Lord has done. (Ps.9:1)

As friends and family, we stand in the gap and storm heaven for her healing. We are not called to give up as God never gives up on us. We are called to fight the good fight of faith.
